I Can't Wait A Prereview of the new movie, The Passions of Christ: "The story looks a little thin but the special effects are going to be spectacular. It'll be the best movie since Titanic - 'I'm on top of the world!'"

Katsucon "I can't believe we're still doing this," was my sentiment to Praxis. 28 years old, and still going to an anime convention. Heh. good stuff. Nothing makes you feel like a pedor-ass like checking out anime costumes cos-played by the area's youngest females. and sometimes males. ugh. Anyways, good to hang out w/ Praxis, GRITSnattitude, Quix, and Urbane0083. Hope Praxis and GRITSnattitude didn't mind me hanging w/ them most of the nite. Thanks for letting us crash your room and Happy Valentine's you guys! :) Tried to get pics of Supergirl and dot, dot, dot speech balloon guy, but we'll just have to be content w/ fansview's pics. Wasn't all that impressed by much on the floors, but looks like I missed some good stuff after looking thru fansview. Oh well. It was more at this point to hang out w/ everyone. Oh! we missed the History of Resident Evil panel, and hence our chance to represent the Zombie Anti-Defamation League about the negative portrayal of zombie's in the franchise. And where are the vegetarian zombie's? Are they less important because they eat rotten fruit, and not human flesh? Racial equality, my ass. Props to Praxis and Quix for bringing these issues to my attention. Praxis is right. When you start recognizing Supergirl or this other cosplayer as ones that have done other good cosplays, you start feeling like a stalker. But, at least I didn't know their names. NO, I'm not looking them up. Sheesh. Pictures of note taken:
  • Imperial Walker - I know, I'm not for all these non-anime cosplays at an anime convention, but these were to me, unfortunately the best ones...
  • a very good and accurate Go-go Yubari, even tho I prefer my friend's rendition :)
  • and the slow, cheer-less service we got at Matsutake that prompted us to help the server out by cleaning up as much as we could for them, as we tried our damnedest to get the check. Would it hurt them to not look like we're bothering them when we ask for service? A smile at least, maybe? Ok, so it was a busy con-Saturday nite. Still.
yes, i realize that i never did put up anyting on the ski-trip. Look, it was fun. Minus losing the wallet. Here're the pics. :P Why do I know the Gummi Bears theme song?

Quantum Wang "Imagine if you will a seven dimensional penis which can project beyond time, and even through solid matter. This metadong can be everywhere and nowhere at once, its exact physical state is constantly in flux. You might think of this scenario as somewhat emasculating, because if someone asks you (for example) if you have the balls to do something, you have to very earnestly reply that you might or you might not, it's kind of a quantum thing. On the other hand, ask that motherfucker if he can have sex with anyone who ever existed, ever, even if they were trapped inside a safe. See what I'm talking about? With an infinite wang, this and much more is possible. Well, I guess I should say probable. It's kind of a quantum thing." --by Tycho of Penny-Arcade fame I know, I know. I'm procrastinating putting up a Ski-trip blog.

Yata! As part of my work duties, I became more familiar w/ Linux, Apache, and such, thru the migration of my web photo album to a Linux box from my stupid XP workstation. More stable, powerful, faster. Anime.american.edu is now up and running! all same links should still work. :) Migration complete.

I Never Watch Football ...except sometimes during the superbowl. This one was particularly interesting because of several reasons:
  • Close game...boring at first, but IMO b/c of the defensive strength of both teams...dammit! wish there was OT....
  • so-so ads. lots of companies have stopped trying. i'm w/ my bro: "they should just give all the money to the beer companies so that we'd have great superbowl commercials."
  • josh groban! (missed it tho, but caught it online here) as my brother puts it, I'm gay for Josh Groban. I admit it.
  • beyonce singing the anthem....wonderful! my god that girl looks great and sings even better....wow.

OMFG So, had another PIU outing w/ the old group last nite, plus Apapazukamor's going to teach English in Japan for a year or so (Congrats!), and at the end of the nite, we see this guy come up. Lean, moustached, alone, but seems to know the D&B arcade tech engineer....so I'm thinking, he's either VERY good, or he just wants to try it out for the first time, since not many people are here. Watch this, and tell me if he was any good.
