Tom Cruise is NOT... ...The Last Samurai. Thank god. Me and some friends thought that's what the movie was all about from the previews we saw. It's actually pretty good. Moving, a la Braveheart and the like. Zimmer did a good score, Ken Watanabe is a rare kind of actor, Koyuki is just stunning, and Tom, well he's being his usual. Decent story, awesome battle choreography, good pace, had me captivated for awhile, until the end. The last few scenes were a bit...off imo, but I think that's more a product of the rest of the movie being too good, that it was hard to wrap it up well, or at least well enough to do the rest of the movie justice. It was adequate. Anyways, see the movie!
