Glad I'm Outta There Now, Praxis can finally stop making fun of my old bank. I finally closed my formerly convenient, on-campus bank accounts and opened up a new account w/ Praxis' bank. Thing is, when I closed the accounts today and received the balances in hand, I didn't know whether or not to feel relieved for leaving finally, or unnerved by the fact I was able to walk out of the bank w/ about 3k in my pocket, WITHOUT them asking even ONCE for my identification. All I gave them were my account numbers. That's it. Anybody could've memorized my account numbers. ANYBODY could've closed out my accounts and walked out w/ not a bad sum of cash. Well, good luck, old bank. I hope your death isn't painful.

Don't Tell Georgie but, last night, while walking around w/ friends and pinaypril's cousin, showing her the sites around the White House, I stumbled upon something I shouldn't have. Climbing and jumping around benches, street-lamps and whatnot around the House as I am wont to do, I accidentally kicked a secret-passageway entrance right outside the gates! I pushed and Darks0ul99 made a sound, not unlike this, which proves it was a secret. We now have unfettered access into the White House to bug Dubya and daughters....mmmm, daughters.

Wallet Gone, Like My Innocence yup, i think i can kiss everything in that wallet goodbye. It's prolly in the hands of someone that needs that money more than i do somewhere downtown, or still on the floor kicked under some table in the restaurant we ate at last night. Well, if it turns up, it turns up. I got my check card blocked, which is the only credit card type thing i had in it. I should prolly block my video rental cards too, before someone gets an idea and "buys" a ton of dvds real cheap. *sigh* Can't go out to drink, can't go out to do anything that requires money, and even then, I really shouldn't be driving around without a license :P Happy Friday the 13th.

Nice I'd be a pretty kick ass character in a D&D game: Str: 13 Int: 13 Wis: 16 Dex: 17 Con: 14 Chr: 17 I could be a decent cross character of a monk and a mage. I never knew my charisma was so high; i should take advantage of it more often ^_- Take the quiz here.

Whoa, Almost Forgot Maybe due to the fact that I was at work until 3:30 this morning, or maybe I'm just dazed by the whole thing, or maybe cuz I'm too at ease in my lot in life, I almost forgot what day it was.

How To Throw Together a Surprise Party In 2 Hours
  • Praxis' way: delegate all the work to everyone else.
  • Get relatives in on it. Celebrants ALWAYS trust their family. :P
  • Don't rely entirely on text/sms messaging. Things got hairy there for awhile, when sms was tardy. Like, 8 hours off kind of tardy. Thank god thepinklamb called when they got there to give us a heads up for starlightgloom's surprise dinner ^___^
  • However! if you have reliable text/sms messaging, and the network's pretty quick to get the messages to and fro... make like you're just checking your phone, get quick w/ your texting, and voila
  • DO NOT give your phone to the celebrant to hold.
  • And so, b/c you're not relying on text/sms, you'll have to use the phone for planning while in the presence of the celebrant. Be careful not to use words that would tip off the celebrant to the surprise. Example: Planner 1: "...so, give us about 5 minutes, then head on over." Planner 2(in presence of celebrant): "5? You found 5 links for drivers? Hmm. I think I better take a look at those links. Mind if I come over? I can be there in about 10 minutes."
  • Stall, stall, stall.
  • You must be a good, bold-faced liar. Example: If you're not one of the designated celebrant distractors, attempt to make legit plans w/ the celebrant at the time of the surprise, who of course will be unavailable. This will throw them off the scent of the surprise plans. Embellish it by making alternate plans later and pout that you can't spend their birthday with them because of their selfish boyfriend.
  • And finally, make sure it's all last minute planning anyway, cuz if it actually comes together, it'll be a big surprise to the celebrant as well as to the planners...

  • Time Wastin' For the last week, the following have been taking up my time: Scully and Nisa housewarming Monkey Manor partay Buffy X-box game Surprise's for Starlightgloom's b-day (Happy bday sucka!) oh, and work I've been totally slacking lately. None of the above events were recorded by my camera. I kept forgetting it! sorry. But, I do have a new section in the photo album, so keep checking for new pics! On a related note, I think after a year full of planning surprise b-day parties, we have the hang of it. Actually, given at least 2 hours, we can easily pull one off. Thanks to all who helped in the deception of our good friends :)

A Cortez Tradition Can't believe I went to see Spy Kids 2 with mg8981b, his g/f, and Yuriko Kinje. "Hey, don't knock it," exclaimed Kinje. "I saw the first one by myself." A kids' movie. A Nickelodeon flick, for crying out loud. Did I like it? I rented and watched the first one later that night. oh, and Carmen is coming up quick to vie for Hermione's place! :P~~
