Blast-ended Skrewts After a full 2 hrs of a night's rest, I have realized several parallels between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. There was a duel. Between a Master of the Dark-Side and an apprentice/novice. There was a military/resource buildup to combat a growing enemy threat. But, that's stretching it, admittedly. Someone lost their hand and had a replacement installed. Both stories end "up-in-the-air" Blast-ended Skrewts. But, Voldemort is NOT Harry's father. Screw all a' you who said so. You guys SUCK.

5 and 5 For my birthday present, starlightgloom thought it would be nice if I helped her and her sister move their things to their new residences, up until 11 at night on Sunday. All went well with the move (except the 2 hour wait for the truck, and the troopers that began to mobilize as I absent-mindedly drove a truck right by the Pentagon), and by the time we had dinner around 11pm! I was still wired and energetic, but I knew if I relaxed even the slightest bit, I woulda crashed right then and there, so I held off until i got home. Woke up the next day for work, and was not sore at all! Well, except for the sore muscle I had in my shoulder due to stress, but I didn't have any soreness from moving stuff the previous day. IT's like my sister said, "I'm as good as 10 men," pointing to her right bicep, "5 and," then pointing to her left, "5."

Work, Fun, Work, Fun Trying to keep the wireless project up to schedule among keeping the netres project afloat, and the the student center video panels installation(how the hell did i end up w/ that?) has been quite taxing on my old frame. And speaking of old, I am now a whopping 27. whee. Well, I soon forgot about the increasing taboo of dating 18 year olds when I was pleasantly surprised at my little family August-birthdays lunch that suddenly ballooned to 30+ people. Sneaky bastards. You'll pay for this! :) Easily the best experience I had this year. We all had our fill of excellent (According to Julietz80's and thepinklamb's assessments) Chinese/Taiwanese buffet dishes. Then, as if my parents hadn't done enuf, they let us all go over to the house and have a little impromptu karaoke party. Julietz80, AUDasher, and astralweng all went out to get some drinks while the rest settled in for about 4 hours of karaoke :) Afterwards, some of us went to D&Bs to get a little PIU on, nothing too much, and then called it a night, cuz tomorrow was going to be a crazy day moving starlightgloom to VA. Everyone who made it to the Chinese Buffet, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I was truly moved and surprised! that there were that many of my friends there. Those that didn't make it, you were missed! Thanks to the family and Praxis for coordinating the deception and campaign of misinformation to assure that it went as planned ;) I got up that noon to get ready to go out w/ just the family for lunch, to celebrate all the August birthdays we couldn't celebrate earlier in the month. I didn't even dress up, cuz it was just gonna be a small lunch w/ just my family. As we entered the restaurant, I didn't notice my mom wave to the party that was going to greet me, I didn't realize my family was looking right at the party as we waited to get seated. I even tried to stop them, as they went ahead and tried to seat themselves and not wait for the host to come back. I even rolled my eyes at they're apparent lack of respect for the rules of the restaurant, but followed them nonetheless. I noticed a wall of white people began to applaud on the back wall for some reason, until I realized that hey, I know those people! They were clapping for me :) Also, I have much gratitude for those that gave me presents; you didn't have to, of course, but ALL of my presents were very much appreciated and very endearing. There was nothing that I would not use or cherish! This has been very much the exception, and I thank you all. I HAD A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY ^_^ pics!

You'd think with a name like mine(my real name), I'd know more about baseball and maybe keep up w/ it, go to games, etc. But there I was last night, going to the Orioles vs Devil Rays game with starlightgloom and thepinklamb with free tickets I got from work, for decent seats on the Club Level!, while I hounded thepinklamb on rules and regulations. Can he steal only if the pitcher doesn't have the ball? It'd be pretty stupid to do so while he did have it. Oh. Pretty exciting game actually. For some reason, I thought baseball games were slower and uneventful. It was actually a lot of fun and fouls were flying furiously left and right and behind. Well, none really came our way. Game got exciting near the end when the Devil's were up at bat, one run down, one out and bases loaded! Beautiful double-play executed by the O's to end the game at the top of the ninth. Club Level was cool, cuz we had an a/c vendor area, and if we wanted, we could get food delivered to our seats! So I coughed up some money and got at least the essentials: a 5$ ballpark frank and a beer. I was good for the night :)

And then there's the fact that if I want to make it on time tomorrow for work, I cannot go home. -_o Yes, Praxis. That was the sun coming up... Friday: Finally hit Atomic and hung w/ friends I haven't seen in awhile, specifically Nisa and Scully, and others. For an hour. Met other bloggers. Then off to D&Bs b-day party for xxaroxx. Little mix-up on times due to last minute changes/conflicts w/ dogotron's brother's band playing downtown. Made both, got back to D&B's before it closed again. Didn't get charged for coming back after 10! Saturday: Woke up midday. D&D, had run-in with the police, Karaoke for xxaroxx's birthday. Went home at 5am. This morning. Sunday: Woke up. 3pm. Went over to pinaypril's and mocahbugs' for tennis. Did not play. Nursed pinaypril from hangover. Oh, and vacuumed. My home, not theirs. Still alive!

2-Part Weekend Had a blast at Kings Dominion on Saturday, with a small group of friends that wanted to do all the rides we could stomach :) pics up shortly and then on Sunday, helped astralweng move, dropped her TV. It got scratched up and doesn't work all that well right now. Have to replace it :P then I put my Treo on the roof of my car and drove off. Thank god a kind soul found it on Wisconsin Ave and called me. Thank god for labels. My g/f still functions fully! Just a little rough around the edges, but who isn't? lost my stylus. again. meh. still a good weekend, i guess :P

Dang i missed a lot of naughty goings-on apparently at the cosplay and other events at Otakon. man! our group got separated when getting in line for the masquerade, and my group got stuck in a dull area of the crowd :( I wanted to shout and cheer so badly, but there was NO energy in our section *sigh* oh well. At least I got to see Praxis lead the cheer for "I say Ota, you say KON!" Droliver and julietz got stuck on the other side from all of us, so I hope they had a good time there. Note for next time: EVERYONE must get in line together 2 hours before the masquerade starts.
