:: Friday, June 28, 2002 :: See? SEE? He really had no idea it was coming. Look at him! LOOK AT HIM! totally surprised. Great party... :) Kung-Fu Fighting due to the number of complaints I received on the JungFroidCam, specifically those that expressed absolute disgust with my nakedness, I now bring to you a little bit of an experiment: BenderCam what it is, is a webcam at work focused on my Bender Toys that I bought from some Discovery Store. Hopefully I'll get a chance to update their frozen action sequences, poses, stances, what have you, at least a couple times a week, so check back often! I put this up as quickly as I could during a workday, so please be patient as I fix the interface. :):: Thursday, June 27, 2002 :: Can I Breathe Now? Success! Bastard had no idea it was coming. Excellent. Muchos gracias to Julie, Dan, Neale, Matt, Jason, Maria, Nina, Teck and everyone who made it, helped out and kept the secret! I really hope we've broken his streak now. ^_-:: Wednesday, June 26, 2002 :: Potter-Mouth For you Harry Pot-heads out there, check this out. LMAO. FAYD Filipino-American Youth Dialogue. helped out with it again this past saturday as a volunteer, maybe to give my input, give my side of the story, see what i can contribute to the minds of Filipino-American Youth. Funny; I don't typically identify with a lot of the Filipinos in the area, except those in college, who come from everywhere. Well, at least I don't feel like Praxis, totally sticking out in his hometown. I am priveleged. An exercise we did really hit it home for me that day. We all stood in a big circle, and the exercise leader stood in the middle, telling us to step forward if we had families that owned a home, or if we had one or more parents that had a college education, or were male, etc. We were asked to step back if we were female, your family didn't own a home, parents hadn't finished high-school or college, etc. You get the idea. People who kept stepping forward ended up near the center of the circle, whereas everyone else ended in various areas outside. Being in the center of the circle, I felt uncomfortable. There were only a few of us, but i think i was the only one that really felt inadequate. I was one of the few in the center, meaning one of the priveleged ones. I felt like i had not done enough in life, like there was much i should be doing, considering my "good" lot in life. At least if i was disadvantaged, I would feel prouder of whereever i was. but, i wasn't. That's what i remember taking back from the dialogue that day, and it has got me contemplating my purpose, if there is one, etc. I feel I've been selfish for awhile now, and need to do at least some kind of community service, give something back to society. I've been actually thinking of it for awhile now, but never got around to it, either cuz i was too busy with life, work, school, or whatever. I've graduated, I'm single, all I do is work now (and party). Is it time? Met a lot of new people, made a new friend, a very promising volunteer for next year's FAYD! FAYD pics 1 and 2:: Thursday, June 20, 2002 :: Happy! At least something's going right in this crazy world. :) I'm all giddy right now, cuz i have a friend who is so sure of herself and where her life is going. It's nice to have some genuine happy news for once. Congrats you two :):: Tuesday, June 18, 2002 :: Unacceptable Ok, Quentin Tarantino was/is an ok director/producer of movies. I enjoyed watching Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, etc. back in the day. His stuff kinda gets old tho; I can't say by any stretch that he is on a par with Oliver Stone. So, it just pisses me off even more when I see that he has "helped" release Iron Monkey here in the states. I look at the cover, and what I see is HIS name first, HIS interview first on the list of bonus features on the DVD, HIS name before any of the real contributors to the film in the credits on the back cover, and HIS name (in big letters nonetheless) before the title in the beginning of the movie. WTF does he have to do with the movie, Iron Monkey? Did he direct it? no. Did he produce it? no. Did he help choreograph the incredible fight-scenes and wire-work? HELLS NO. He had NOTHING to do with the movie other than upon watching it the first time, he thought, "Wow, what a cool movie! Everyone in America needs to see this!" so, to his credit, it has become widely available here domestically. BUT WHY IS HIS FUCKING NAME ALL OVER THE GODDAMN DVD!?!? whatever. fine. he got it to come out here in the states. But, he didn't even preserve it. The cover does not even portray any of the stars in the film, and MUCH has been cut and changed from the original film. Don't fuck with me Tarantino. I know this freakin' movie, frame by frame. Translations have been changed, scenes cut short, scenes where characters are coughing up blood have been reduced(but for whose benefit, I really don't know. A PG-13 can surely have been kept nowadays without touching them), and there was so much cut in the last fight scene (again, for who or why, I cannot even fathom). Tarantino, if you're gonna claim credit for a movie you had nothing to do with, why don't you at least leave the movie alone, and save yourself the trouble and money?:: Sunday, June 16, 2002 :: Irony of Ironies Copy-protected bootlegs.:: Friday, June 14, 2002 :: About Goddamn Time only took me forever to realize that i had the info i needed to setup my blog on www.gunbuster.com. please use my "new" domain name to access this blog! to make a long story short, I had signed up w/ my host service with the wrong domain name, and so got lost in the confusion of setting up the domain. it's working now.... -_-;; Ahhhh.... that feels so much better. changed the left panel a bit to be more organized, and more up-to-date. Also, cuz I know you care, Katsucon '02 log entries 1 and 2 have been updated! Now, all the links to pics in the entries work; they haven't worked since my server crashed and i changed all the directory names... let me know if i missed something... I'm Gettin' Too Old For This Shit but it was fun anyway, hangin' out w/ ChinaSpice and friends last night. woohoo! and I only called in late ONE hour. -_-;; Girl, you may wanna get that hotdog fixation looked at. Validation! Coachi feels a little better about it all, but not fully.:: Thursday, June 13, 2002 :: *SIGH* Oh, it gets better.... ARGH. some mornings just start out wrong.:: Monday, June 10, 2002 :: No Time for Love Am i really that busy that i don't have time to blog anymore? i can't believe it! it's driving me mad, cuz i know i have the time, i just don't make the time. argh. anyways, at least i have pics from this weekend: Pinoy Art Exhibit(sans art) Sis' Graduation Party Penang Restaurant Outing Philippine Fair Downtown so now i have this weekend, the ny weekend, and my Philippine trip from this past JANUARY, to blog about. it's just adding up. not unlike work. which i should be doing NOW.
